Summer Time & Homemade Ice Cream
As a kid, Granny would always treat us to homemade ice cream. I can remember all the flavors that I loved, my favorite at the time was chocolate, Granny’s was banana!
Fast forward to married life, my husband took on the role as ice cream maker! He really gets creative. Strawberry, cheesecake and butter finger are his specialties! There is something so refreshing about a hot summer day and hearing the ice cream machine churning!
Here is the recipe that we use as a base, and just add whatever flavor you are interested in!
Vanilla Ice Cream
4 quart Ice cream maker:
2 cups milk
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Banana: Add 3 cups mashed bananas
