I am stuck! My reality is that I am French and I cannot keep up with my son English curriculum. Next year we are getting into the 9th grade and credit class and oh pickle that is terrifying me. The idea of maybe sending him to school, after homeschooling him from kindergarten until now, is crossing my mind and yet, it doesn’t feel right.
Is there anyone out there who feels that way? You struggle with a subject that your child is taking and you don’t know how you will be able to keep going into the homeschool world? You do the cons and pros list and debate with yourself constantly on that topic. You even lose sleep over it! One day you have made your decision and the next day you change your mind. I just want to scream “someone help me, guide me!” to anyone and everyone that is willing to listen. Seriously, am I the only one going through that? Anyone out there that relate?
Each time your child moves up a grade, new challenges are ahead of you. The older they get, the harder it gets too. But I have to remind myself that there is a lot of option for us out there. I don’t have to send him full time to school, he is allowed to be attending only one class or two that he needs so I can still homeschooling him. There are some curriculums out there where you have access not only to an online class but a real person that can help your child flourish in a subject that you might struggle with. There are a lot of university students that are offering tutoring services. So, at the end of the day, you just need to pray about it and see where God leads you. It is not about hurting the homeschool community or rejecting the school community, it is about your child. What will work for him or her is what you need to choose.
And if you do care about my choice, well I haven’t made my mind yet!
